Urinary incontinence is defined as the involuntary leakage of urine. The most frequent cause is a weak pelvic floor. These muscles control the opening to the bladder, and if they’re weakened, the opening doesn’t remain shut, and urine can leak into the urethra.
These muscles can be weakened by several things, including:
- Vaginal childbirth
- General aging
- Hormone imbalance
- Menopause
- A sedentary lifestyle
